Yesterday, at the much awaited special Apple event, the company rolled out its next-generation iPod Touch. Joining it are two more additions to the iPod family of digital music player. They are the new sixth generation iPod classic and a new iPod Nano.
The newly unveiled sixth generation iPod Classic delivers features such as music, photos, and video storage just like older generations. The iPod Classic like older editions too can hold podcasts and games.
The only features that are new to this sixth generation iPod Classic seem to be enhanced user interface featuring Cover Flow, allowing users to scroll through their entire music collection by album cover artwork using the Click Wheel.
Plus, this iPod is housed in an all-metal anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel enclosure. The iPod Classic is available in two colors namely silver and black.
It is available in two capacities of 80GB and 160GB. The iPod Classic features up to 40 hours of music playback and seven hours of video playback in the 160GB model, and up to 30 hours of music playback and five hours of video playback in the 80GB model on just a single charge.
The newly unveiled iPod nano sports a much larger display which now measures around 2-inches. The display offers 320×240 pixel resolution and is 65% brighter than its previous generation model.
Like the iPod Classic, the iPod nano too features an enhanced user interface that has the ability to display album artwork and photos. Besides, the iPod nano's interface also includes Cover Flow.
The iPod nano delivers up to 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback on just a single charge. The new nano is also encased in an all-metal design made with anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel.
The new iPod nano comes in five colors namely silver, black, blue, green and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition model.
According to Apple, the new new iPod classic and iPod nano are ideal for playing iPod games and comes pre-loaded with the entertainment trivia game iQuiz; Vortex, a fast-paced 360 degree brick-bashing game; and Klondike, the popular solitaire card game.
Additional games will be available for purchase later this month from the iTunes Store, including Sudoku and Tetris from Electronic Arts and Ms. PAC-MAN from NAMCO.
The iPod Classic has been priced at $249 for the 80GB model and $349 for the 160GB model. The 4GB iPod nano costs $149 for the silver model. The 8GB iPod nano is available in silver, black, blue, green and (PRODUCT) RED for $199. Both these revamped iPods are immediately available worldwide.

使用者圈眾說紛紜的新款 iPod 果然在這場特別發表會中亮相了，首先登場的是全新改款的第三代 iPod nano。第三代 iPod nano 有 4GB 與 8GB 兩種容量（分別約可容納 1 千與 2 千首曲目），外殼顏色則有清淺的銀（4GB 僅有此色）、藍、紅、綠、黑五色。在機型外觀方面，第三代 iPod nano 體積明顯袖珍許多，尺寸資訊為高 6.98 公分，寬 5.23 公分，厚度僅 0.65 公分，重量為 49.2 公克。第三代 iPod nano 的操作界面也有所改良，其中最棒的一點就是正式採用了如 iTunes 般以唱片封面翻頁瀏覽方式的 Cover Flow 。
相對於先前的款式，第三代 iPod nano 有著甚大、幾乎是佔了一半其前面板一半的液晶螢幕，螢幕尺寸為 2 英吋、解析度為 320 x 240 圖素（每英吋有 204 圖素）。即便如此，第三代 iPod nano 的電池表現卻不俗，根據蘋果測試的結果，聽音樂時至多可持續達 24 小時，欣賞影片時則可約達 5 小時。至於售價方面，第三代 iPod nano 4GB 款式為 149 美元， 8GB 則為 199 美元。
