Description: IN 1998, PRESIDENT FIDEL V. RAMOS INAGURATED THE METRO BALL ASSOCIATION. ABS-CBN MADE A NEW CHANNEL DEDICATED ONLY TO THIS LEAGUE, CALLED STUDIO 23. At that time, I wasn't a fan of basketball at all, because I was one of those "jordan-haters". All I did was to listen to Bon Jovi's music and wanted to be a rockstar (wishful thinking). At school I was criticized why I didn't play basketball considering that my height is 6'1 ft.tall. Not until came MBA. A regionalistic approach wherein all other places in the country could have a shout-out to everyone that "the Philippines is not just Manila!". It is unfair on my part coz the medium is basketball. Anyways, I dug it. Well what the heck, 'twas the time when music starts to suck, disco & hiphop emerged into the mainstream. I decided to have a turning point in life from music, so i focused on this sport. PBA stinks!! they got skills, but we don't have something to cheer about coz we don't have hometown players/team. NORTH TEAMS: MANILA Metrostars PAMPANGA Dragons PASIG-RIZAL Pirates SAN JUAN Knights LAGUNA Lakers BATANGAS Blades NUEVA ECIJA Patriots SOUTHERN TEAMS: CEBU GEMS NEGROS Slashers ILOILO Megavoltz DAVAO Eagles CAGAYAN DE ORO Nuggets SOCSARGEN Marlins SURIGAO Miners The Cebu-Negros Rivalry. "bato-on!" chants from the crowd in cebu coliseum whenever the slashers comes to town. even the vice-mayor of cebu, the number one whiner in the league. he acts like a marc cubanesque whenever he feels that his Gems are in trouble with bad officiating. Did I mention that Alex compton is their answer for Steve Nash in this league. Blitz 3 is very favorable on Nash's style. A 200-point average on his team would be acheivable if Nash had played on the MBA.
