blubutterflywingz ::: Favorites a preemie is a baby that has been born before the 36th week. The baby is not prepared to be born before then as the body is not done growing and developing. For instance with my son, his lungs were not developed so he needed machines to breath for him, his brain was not developed so he developed brain bleeds which are the small immature blood vessels in the brain breaking and bleeding.
