I have him on video saying that. I think it says more about his own anxieties about being mobbed or harrassed. Also he is a member of the website tubularnet and has posted once saying, "Hi". But I think he reads what fans say because he seems to know what we want. His next album will be a return to the 70's part classical piece. Can't wait for that one!

I was'nt going to comment but after reading the comments that Oldfield does'nt care about his fans has promted me. I have seen many of his concerts over the years going back to his 1st big Wembley concert. He was never late and was very considerate towards his fans. I think the 'crazie' coment was probably not a serious attack at his fans.

I have to say TB just because it was the first, but these all come a close second for me, Hergest Ridge, Incantatiions, Ommadawn, AMAROK ROCKS, TB II and III and Songs of Distant Earth. Not into the pop songs. Michael has little respect for his fans, but I still love him.

hello, does he call us that? but he earns his money from his fans, suppose its his way of being nice. I can say i saw him live and saw what he can actually do ,it was amazing that he could play so many instruments and with such enthusiasm even after all these years. What is your favourite album from him?mine is hergest ridge with ommadawn a close second

I'm so sorry you were disappointed, I've never seen Mike LIVE. I actually prefer to hear Live music played as close to the album as possible because it shows that they CAN do it without help from a studio. But Mike certainly never has cared about what his fans think or want, I'll agree with you there. He calls us crazies.

i watched mike in munester many years ago in germany,he played tubular bells 2 and i was disappointed in that it was exactly the same as the cd,he arrived 2 hours late and only played for an hour and did the sailors hornpipe a tthe end,i was so gutted that he didnt give a damn about what the fans wanted. Never came back for an encore either,he might has well had jsut played a video really.but i love watching his old videos of live performances in the 70's.

Glad you like the song. I'm not a fan of Mikes pop songs at all, except for a few that Barry Palmer sings on the Discovery album. I think such a prolific instrumentalist shouldn't waste his time with pop songs. But this song just does something to me, It's my favourite song EVA.
