If he did have emotion, then he would be a sociopath (Ulliel's is a sociopath); Hopkins's is not a sociopath because he doesn't enjoy killing, he just does it to do it. I just had an issue with the French accent that he has in this movie, while Sir Tony portrayed him with a welsh/ American accent.
