Description:

Thierry and Annie-Christine have two lovely parrots, an Amazonian Green and an African Grey. The African grey did a bunk a week ago, and after five days of liberty was fortunately retrieved. He is still a bit dazed in this video.

They got it back. It was in the local paper afterwards, the story about how they lost it and got it back.

Hmmn. I suppose that guano is always going to be an issue. I saw a male in a Warsaw petshop and it was 4500 PLN, which is 1200 EUR or more, so it's a good idea to be sure before buying, as of course is true for any animal.

I never imagined that I'd want to be a Parrot :) btw. can they be house-trained, so they don't go dropping guano all over the gaff? I'm semi-interested in getting one someday, but as we own two Boxers at the minute, it's a no-no.

My brother in Hawaii also has an Amazonian green and an African Grey! Both of them talk quite a lot. When the grey fell off his perch on one of my visits, he said, "It's OK; it's all right". The other has this annoying habit of imitating the sound of an alarm clock at 4AM.

Well, the problem is that most of the parrots sold are males. The females are kept back by the breeders. That means that at a certain age the males want to go off in search of females.
