it does matter if he was running outside lane. He could have break the record again if somebody was challenging beside him. When he broke the record, everybody in both side is challenging him and he got a good time, 12:88! Look at the 100m in 2004 Athens Olympics. Mo Greene should have won, but because he was in the outside lane he and Asafa only looking at each other and they ignore Gatlin! Gatlin got it! it the somehow the same case!
