kinksfan is definitely right. It was just that these girls had gazed at the album covers and drooled over their songs for so long...to finally SEE these guys in person was too much to bear. So they screamed out of pure excitement. I bet we'll never see that kind of thing again, sadly.

These guys woke up my sexuality when I was of that tender age! And they made me looove Englishmen to this day. :)

Hey, that makes sense. More sense than the guy who just wanted to know if I was serious, as if people just normally scream to show approval for something, like clapping. Thanks.... ::girly screaming::

It's hard to explain now, why there was so much screaming. All the pent-up sexual energy of girls and young women: it was a lonngggg time ago.

Looking at this video,it's amazing to me that any of them are still alive 42 years later, and three original members still together. Keith Richards (who was Keith Richard then) especially. He actually looked great, and even clean-cut. Mick Jagger is the one who has aged the least. He actually looks better now. Anyone who lived through the early days would have mixed feelings about the Stones, but they sure put out some great music.

It's live, just listen to it. Rare live performance, NO lyp-sinc here. Keith kind of fucks up the solo at the end....as it compares to the recorded version.

at least they're playing live, the problem is, brian jones is playing the main riff and its buried in the mix somewhere, can barely hear it.

This is the Stones at their very best! Young, not drugged out, Brian Jones, ...etc. This is from the period right before they hit it big with Satisfaction. Hard to find a "live" clip like this because most shows were lip-synched. I think this is Ed Sullivan Show. Great vid, only complaint that I have is that they didn't show hardly any shots of Bill or Brian...and BRIAN JONES WAS THE ROLLING STONES! RIP!
